  • Bring a Pencil, Eraser, water bottle, quiet snack & a book to read (or your science textbook to study)!

Today in SCIENCE we:

  • Worked in groups on our review. 5 questions per unit (THIS IS A RATE!) - a total of 25 questions (5 unitsX5 questions per unit).

  • Had a unit final on chapter 14.
  • Got some more review questions.
Today in MATH we:
  • Got some review questions: mp7 p 142-143 ALL of the EVEN ones.
  • Come to class on MONDAY with your questions.
Today in SCIENCE we:
  • Finished & Handed in our Plant Booklets: Did you get a picture for the nitrogen cycle? Did you write about compost?
  • The only page that should be blank is the greenout page
  • Did observations on our beans.
  • Wrote a one paragraph summary about what was happening to our beans.
  • Do you think they will keep growing without soil?
  • HOMEWORK: Read the 5 Summaries from each of the units we studied.

  • Read from Peacekeepers.
  • Don't forget you have a spelling test & a unit final tomorrow.


Today in MATH we:
  • Reviewed Circumference, Circles, Translations, Transformations, Rotations, & Symmetry. Do you know the difference between them?
  • DO mp7 p 293 #1-10, mp7 p 295 #1-5, p 297 #1-8 DUE FRIDAY.
Today in SCIENCE we:
  • Did an open book test on Plants for Food & Fibre.
  • Looked at our beans....what is yours doing? We are on Day 11 of our bean observations.
  • Handed in our Unit Review.
  • Our booklets will be handed in TOMORROW!!!!! We will finish the nitrogen cyle, compost & green out in class.
  • We need to calculate the RANGE of our data. How will we do that?

  • Read about Translations, Transformations, Rotations & lines of symmetry (mp7 pgs 292, 294, 296, 298).

Today in SCIENCE we:

  • Checked our beans & made observations.
  • Worked on our booklets - they are due on FRIDAY.

  • Talked about SUPPLEMENTARY & COMPLEMENTARY angles - what is the difference?
  • Talked about alternate interior angles, corresponding angles, co-interior angles, vertically opposite angles, & vertically adjacent angles....do you know what they are?
  • Homework: Complementary & Supplementary angles worksheet, intersecting lines worksheet, Parallel lines and their angles worksheet. Due: MONDAY

Today in SCIENCE we:

  • Did observations on our beans.
  • Went outside and recorded data for 12 dandelions. How are you going to graph this data?
  • The seeds & life cycle page of your booklets should be completed by MONDAY.

  • Started writing an opinion piece on the impact of technology (1 page).

Today in MATH we:
  • Reviewed our definitions from Geometry.
  • Did a worksheet on intersecting, perpendicular & parallel lines - Due Thursday.
  • What are the differences between lines, rays, & line segments? What is the definition of an angle? A vertex?
  • You need to bring a PROTRACTOR to class from now on.
Today in SCIENCE we:
  • Read sia7 sections 1.3 &1.4 and did all of the c&r.
  • What are adaptations? Why do plants need them?
  • Checked on our beans & made observations.
  • Handed in our science textbooks so they can be barcoded in the library. Do not worry....you'll have them back soon!

  • Reviewed the difference between DIFFUSION & OSMOSIS.
  • HOMEWORK: 10 examples of diffusion & 10 examples of osmosis.

  • MONDAY at LUNCH & AFTER SCHOOL - MATH. There will be a quiz on TUESDAY so make SURE you UNDERSTAND problem solving & working with equations.
